They also run departments at college level along side teaching and performing administrative work like budgeting. College presidents and school superintendents are charged with making policies that guide operations of the educational institutions. Salaries depend on roles and other variables. For example, personnel and training managers earned median salaries between $66,000 to $82,000 per annum whereas instructional coordinators drew $50,000 per year in 2004. Counselors earned between $34,000 and $59,000 annually in 2004.
